CONSERVATORY

In 2011 Bas gained his Bachelor of Music Education degree at the Conservatory of Amsterdam (Amsterdam University of Arts), 4 years later he graduated from the Classical Guitar department of the same school. Currently he works at the Music Education Department (ODM) of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam as a senior lecturer of Guitar, non-Western Music Pedagogy and Community Music. He works in the Classical Department of the CvA as a teacher of several courses including Guitar (side subject). Since 2023 Bas is artistic coördinator of the Master Musical Leadership.

As a guest lecturer Bas regularly teaches educational courses at the classical faculty of Codarts Conservatory Rotterdam.

SCHOOL PROJECTS

As a music educator, Bas has worked in various settings and places. His experience inside the classroom includes singing with guitar, composing with children, percussion workshops with all ages, schoolyard concerts, developing teaching material for elementary school and bandcoaching.

From the years 2016-2024 Bas worked at Aslan Muziekcentrum acadamy as an arranger/musical leader of the 'Aslan Talentorkest' and as a teacher of Music Theory.
